At present, the preparation of bulk chemicals in China is mainly based on non renewable fossil resources such as oil, coal and natural gas, and is completed by chemical conversion technology. Its development prospect is unsustainable. At the same time, there are serious pollution and a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions.
In the future, China's bulk chemicals will mainly develop in the direction of diversification of raw materials and green production process. Taking renewable biomass as raw materials and biotransformation will be the research focus of bulk chemicals preparation technology.
